Destination Wedding Photography: Prague Pre Wedding
When coming up with ideas for Priya and Kavit’s pre-wedding shoot, as soon as we mentioned Prague, Priya’s mood brightened up straight away. That’s where Priya and Kavit first met a couple of years ago. They were both extremely happy to go back there for having pictures to use for their wedding day.
We all got on so well and just knew the whole experience would be a lot of fun. We first met Kavit and his family at his cousin’s wedding back in 2013. He was the best man and we got on really well.
While planning their destination shoot, there was one particular idea we really wanted to get right for Priya and Kavit and capture the essence of Prague in one shot. That was on the very popular Charles Bridge.
We all planned to get up few hours before sunrise to be on the bridge when the sun starts peeking over the buildings in the background. We’d planned for a golden sunrise photo, but I think we’ve been jinxed when it comes to this type of shot because, as per Sod’s law (Murphy’s law for our American fans), there were just too many clouds blocking that beautiful golden glow we wanted. But as always, we aren’t ones to quit or stay disappointed for long.
But as always, we aren’t ones to quit or stay disappointed for long. We just adapted the idea and still managed to get something we all absolutely love.
And the laughs…oh the laughs we had! At some point, everyone forgot we went all the way to Prague to work! I think some of the other guests at the hotel we were staying at, the Mamaison Hotel Riverside Prague, might have got annoyed that a bunch of Asians were constantly laughing (loud) in the corridors, lounge, bar, restaurant etc. Basically, anywhere we went in the hotel.
Eventually, some guests joined in with the banter. Guess they thought, “if you can’t beat them, join them.” And I think I left a huge impression on Priya. I don’t think she’ll ever forget me and my unique brand of customer service. Some things are just better left unsaid as I’m sure Priya and Kavit would agree. ;-)
Let’s just say, it was an absolute brilliant pre wedding shoot. Perfect company and beautiful location. Priya and Kavit were just so excited and supportive of each and every idea we came up with, and thanks to their enthusiasm and trust in us, we feel the results are among the best batch of pre wedding photos we’ve done so far.
