Asian Fusion Wedding at Stapleford Park
I always struggle to write up anything when it comes to posting images from fusion weddings. My anxiety goes into overdrive while I try to battle with my conscience. Mostly about how to describe the coming together of two cultures.
As a society, we tend to use the word ‘interracial’ to describe this type of relationship. And even though I sometimes use it, the word has always made me feel uncomfortable. Do we need to ‘label’ everything to understand them?
With all the hate filled madness going on in the world right now, it’s easy to forget that we are all part of the same race. The human race. Multicultural weddings are a reminder that weddings by their very nature are about unifying people.
The bride and groom, the families, the friends, colleagues and even strangers. And we are privileged and grateful that we get to witness all this on a regular basis. It’s why we love our job, even more, when we get an enquiry from a couple who are from different ethnic backgrounds.
On this occasion, we got to witness Panjabi and Vietnamese traditions coming together. During the planning stages, we just as excited as Kevita and Kim about their Civil and Reception. After many emails and even more WhatsApp messages, the day had finally arrived.
The entire day was nothing short of epic. We had the most accommodating venue staff who were brilliant to work with. No request was too big or small. To anybody looking to book a wedding venue in Leicestershire, we recommend Stapleford Park.
On another note, I seem to be cursed when it comes to photographing fireworks. I always tend to get injured. After running around non-stop most of the day coordinating and planning the shot, I’m not too pleased about busting my knee while coming down a flight of stairs at speed. Still not recovered.
But, on the positive side, I’m very happy that the hard work paid off! And as Kim put it, looks like something out of a Disney movie. I don’t watch a lot of Disney, so I’m not sure what he meant. But I’ll take it as a huge compliment.
Here’s a handful of images from Kevita & Kim’s reception. Hope you like them as much we do.
We’d love to shoot at Stapleford again, so if you’re getting married there, we’d love to hear from you. Get In Touch.
