Sacred Heart Church Wedding Photography London – Anna and Michael
When Anna and Michael first came to see us earlier this year, we got really excited! The prospect of documenting their wedding at Sacred Heart Church in Kilburn, London, was exciting enough, but even more so because it was our first church wedding.
At first we thought they wouldn’t be interested in booking us as we only had images of Asian weddings to show them. But we needn’t have worried. After seeing the albums and slideshow, Anna said they were impressed by what they saw and they had full faith in our abilities to tell their story. What mattered to them was the unobtrusive reportage shooting style we have. But more importantly, we all got on really well. And that’s all the motivation we needed. It’s always a privilege when couples recognise and appreciate the pressure and hard work that goes into creating memorable images for one of the most important days of a couples life.
On their wedding day, we had an absolutely brilliant time, both families were so lovely. The church wedding atmosphere was very serene with the pleasant sounds of hymns and a few bouts of restless children which made everyone laugh. One reason we love wedding photography is because we get to experience and learn about different customs, rituals and beliefs. Something new we learned about a Christian wedding ceremony was how the bride and groom would light two separate candles before the vows, then after the vows they blow them out and light one candle together. This symbolises their unity and love for each other.
After the beautiful church ceremony, everyone gathered outside momentarily before heading off for the reception at the Marriott Hotel, Regents Park. The best men embarrassing Michael by placing pictures of his messy room as centrepieces on each guest table was a hilarious touch. And music from a live Irish band was a great way to end the night.
We had a lot of fun with them and their families. Here’s a selection of shots from the day.
