FAQ
Where are you based?
We are based in London. More specifically, Uxbridge in Middlesex.
Do you only shoot in the London area?
Certainly not! Although we are based in London, we cover wedding photography in London, Surrey, Berkshire, Hertfordshire and anywhere in the UK. We also do destination weddings and will be happy to shoot your wedding wherever it takes place in the world!
How much extra do you charge to travel outside the UK?
That will depend on the location and how much time we have until your wedding. If you book us well in advance, then we can get cheap airline tickets.
Alternatively, we invite you to arrange the flight and accommodation if you prefer. But due to the high value of the equipment we carry and airline restrictions, we would ask that you only book flights on reputable airlines. We will provide you with a list of suggestions.Do you photograph weddings & engagements only?
Predominantly yes. We focus mainly on weddings, engagements and anything else related to them. However, photography is our passion and we're happy to document any important events. Religious celebrations, christenings, birthdays, graduations, corporate events, concerts, commercial photography etc.
Basically, we are happy to photograph anything that needs photographing as long as we're available. Give us a call and we can discuss the details. Can we have a pre-wedding photo session?
Of course you can!
We encourage all our clients to include a pre-wedding shoot in their package.
A pre-wedding shoot is a great way for us to get to know you better. It also provides a relaxed and fun way to get some fantastic pictures of you both without the time constraints or the pressures of the wedding day.
You will also see how we work, and get a clear idea of what to expect of your portrait session on the day. Think of it as a rehearsal for the main wedding portraits. It will make it a lot easier for you on the day.
Pre-wedding sessions can be included in the main wedding package or done as a seperate package. You can also have a post wedding shoot if you are already married but haven't had any professional photos taken for a while.
Do you have more work you can show us?
Absolutely!
During the consultation we will show you as much work as you can handle. You can also view more recent weddings on our blog. But, to enable the site to load faster, and save bandwidth and memory, old posts are sometimes removed or the images reduced.
How much is your standard wedding package?
We don't have a standard package as such. Our coverage rate, albums and images are all individually priced so it depends entirely on your requirements. You are unique as a person so your expectations will be different to others. Your wedding will also have different factors to consider. During a consultation we discuss your wedding in detail and let you decide how much you want to invest. Our only stipulation is that you book us for a minimum of 4 hours for weddings and events.
To give you a rough idea of costs, most of our couples spend on average £4170 (based on 10 hours coverage, a beautifully designed album and 200 images).
The cheapest full day package starts at £2010 (8hrs coverage, album and 150 images).Do give us a call regardless of your budget and we'll see what we can do for you.
How do I book you?
If we are available on your chosen date, we will book you in for a consultation and discuss all the details with you and give you a quote. If you are then happy to go ahead, a booking fee and a signed contract will secure your date(s).
Can you give me a quote over the phone?
We believe great wedding photography is based on the relationship between the couple and the photographer(s).
The best way for us to understand you as individuals is through a consultation. It also gives us the opportunity to discuss your specific requirements in detail and advise you on where you may, or may not, need photography coverage and other aspects of your wedding.
Our consultations are free of charge, so you have nothing to lose by coming in. Our work, products and services are always evolving so even if we covered a friend or relatives wedding and you know what to expect from us, it's best you still come in for a chat.
We assure you that there is no hard sell and we don't try to convince you to buy anything you don't need. It's just a relaxed, friendly chat where we show you what we can offer and let you decide how much you want to invest in your wedding photography. We got a cheaper quote from another photographer, can you beat it?
No we can't!
Although we do our best to accommodate all budgets, we don't compete on price in order to secure a booking. We use the same pricing structure to work out a quote for all our clients.
Discounting our work would be unfair to our current couples who invested in us because they appreciate the value of our work and our passion to deliver a high quality product and service.
If you are happy with another photographers work and their prices are within your budget, we recommend you book them.
How long will you stay at the wedding?
That depends on how long you’ve booked us for. We will stay for as long as you want us to. It's entirely up to you.
And we understand that things may not go to plan on the day and delays may occur, but that doesn't mean we will just pack up and leave after our contracted hours are over. If you are happy for us to do so, we will stay back to ensure we've captured the wedding from start to finish, regardless of delays. Any additional hours we cover can be invoiced later.
Can you provide additional photographers?
Yes, we can. In general you will always have 2 of us attending your wedding, my wife and myself. And if required, we have a network of talented photographers that we can call upon to assist us.
Do you provide videography as well as photography?
We are specialists in wedding photography and prefer to put 100% of our efforts into producing the best products in that field.
We wouldn't want to jeopordise the quality of the photos we produce for you by taking on the responsibility of filming as well.
However, we can provide you with a list of high quality cinematographers and videographers that we have worked with.Do you turn up with a whole crew of assistants and other photographers?
No we don't!
It's mainly just the two of us. My wife and I work as a husband & wife team on most weddings. She is ultimately my second shooter, which means she's on hand to cover other areas of your wedding while I focus on the main parts.
If my wife is not available to attend the wedding, I will always have someone else to assist me.
Depending on the event, we may occasionally bring along a third person to assist us if we feel there is a need.
Why do most decent wedding photographers charge an average of £2500 upwards?
I personally don't have a universal answer to this question. Every photographer has their own unique business model and charge what they feel is right for their business and talent. You might want to read my article "Why is Wedding Photography so expensive?" to get some understanding of why different people charge what they do.
If the quality of your photos are important to you, then I recommend you have a look at your entire wedding budget and see if you can cut down on other aspects in order to increase the photography budget. Remember, once the cake has been eaten, the flowers wilted, the honeymoon over, all you have left are the photos as a permanent visual memory of the most important day in your life. Don't think of photography as a purchase, look at it as more of an investment.Do you do normal portrait photography?
Of course we do! We started out doing portraits and still do them alongside weddings. Whether it's a couple, individual, family or baby portrait, just give us a call and we'll be more than happy to create stunning photos for you.
Are you a member of any photographic organisations?
Do you have any kind of professional insurance?
Absolutely!
We are insured with public liability, professional indemnity and employers liability insurance which is valid worldwide.
Someone else photographed our wedding, but can you edit them for us?
Generally we would say no to this kind of request due to copyright infringement issues. However, if the photographer you hired has given you the right to edit the images we can have a look at the images and see what we can do. We will ask to see your wedding contract before we can proceed. Please bear in mind that no amount of editing can turn a bad photo into a good one.
I want to learn about Photography, do you teach or do workshops?
Yes & No.
I get asked to help people all the time. And I love teaching others what I know so I do a limited number of private one-to-one workshops per year. I don't do group workshops.. not yet anyway.
And as well as photography basics, I also provide SEO and Social Marketing consultation.
Just get in touch and we'll discuss what you need to learn. I can then tailor a practical one-to-one course with your specific needs in mind. However, as mentioned, I only do a very limited number of courses per year and only for those who are serious about photography. So book your spot early if you don't want to miss out.
Check out the testimonials from a few people I've trained so far.
