FAQ

  1. Where are you based?

We are based in London. More specifically, Uxbridge in Middlesex.

  2. Do you only shoot in the London area?

Certainly not! Although we are based in London, we cover wedding photography in London, Surrey, Berkshire, Hertfordshire and beyond. We are happy to shoot your wedding wherever you may be in the world!

  3. How much is your standard wedding package?

We don't have a standard package or set price for weddings. All our packages are tailored to each individual event and the couples requirements. Each client is unique in personality so will have different expectations, and each wedding has different factors to consider. During a consultation we take specific details of the wedding from you and let you decide the package you want. We then give you a quote based on the information you provide.

  4. Can you give me a quote over the phone?

We believe great wedding photography is based on the relationship between the couple and the photographer(s). The best way for us to understand you as individuals is through a consultation. It also gives us the opportunity to discuss your specific requirements in detail. Our consultations are free of charge, so you have nothing to lose by coming in. And best of all, we don't try to sell you anything you don't need. It's just a relaxed, friendly chat where we show you what we can offer and let you to decide what you want.

  5. Do you turn up with a whole crew of assistants and other photographers?

No! Just the two of us. My wife and I work as a husband & wife team on most weddings. She's there mainly to assist me with lighting & equipment at the wedding. If my wife is not available to attend the wedding, I will always have someone else to assist me.

  6. Can you provide additional photographers?

Yes, we can. In general you will always have 2 of us attending your event, my wife and myself. And if required, we have a network of talented photographers that we can call upon.

  7. How long will you stay at the wedding?

That depends on how long you’ve booked us for. We will stay for as long as you want us to. It's entirely up to you.
And we understand that things may not go to plan on the day and delays may occur, but that doesn't mean we will just pack up and leave after our contracted hours are over. If you are happy for us to do so, we will stay back to ensure we've captured the wedding from start to finish, regardless of delays. Any additional hours we cover can be invoiced later.

  8. Do you have more work you can show us?

Absolutely! During the consultation I will show you as much work as you can handle. In most cases you can view full weddings on my blog. But, to enable the site to load faster, and save on bandwidth and server memory, sometimes I do tend to remove some old work.

  9. How do I book you?

If we are available on your chosen date, we will book you in for a free consultation and discuss all the details with you. We will then provide you with a quote. If you are happy with the quote, a deposit and a signed contract will secure your booking.

  10. Our photography budget is small, but most decent photographers charge an average of £2000, Why is that?

I personally don't have a universal answer to this question. Every photographer has their own unique business model and charge what they feel is right for their business and talent. You might want to read my article "Why is Wedding Photography so expensive?" to get some understanding of why different people charge what they do. If the quality of your photos are important to you, then I recommend you have a look at your entire wedding budget and see if you can cut down on other aspects in order to increase the photography budget. Remember, once the cake has been eaten, the flowers wilted, the honeymoon over, all you have left are the photos as a permanent visual memory of the most important day in your life. Photography is not a purchase, it's an investment.

  11. I got a cheaper quote from another photographer, can you beat it?

No. Although we do our best to accommodate all budgets, we don't compete on price. It wouldn't be fair to our other clients, and ourselves, if we discounted the value of our work and efforts. If you are happy with another photographers work, we recommend you book them.

  12. Can you provide Videography?

We are specialists in wedding photography and prefer to put 100% of our efforts into one skill, rather than 50% each on 2 different skills. However, we do have a list of high quality videographers who we have worked with that we can recommend.

  13. Do you photograph weddings & Engagements only?

Most definitely not. Photography is our passion and we're happy to document any important events. Religious celebrations, Christenings, Birthdays, Graduations, Corporate events, Concerts etc. Basically, we are happy to photograph anything that needs photographing.

  14. Do you do normal portrait photography?

Of course! We started out doing portraits and still do alongside weddings. Whether it's a couple, individual, family or baby portrait, just give us a call and we'll be more than happy to create stunning photos for you. We love being spontaneous, so you can choose any location and we'll be there. As long as we're legally allowed to shoot there that is. Military bases and government buildings could get a little tricky to shoot around.

  15. Can we have an engagement / pre-wedding photo session?

Of course you can! We encourage all our clients to include a pre-wedding shoot in their package.
A pre-wedding shoot is a great way for us to get to know each other better. It also provides a relaxed and fun way to get some fantastic pictures of you both. You will see how we work, and get a clear idea of what to expect of your portrait session on the wedding day. Think of it as a rehearsal for the main wedding portraits. It will make it a lot easier for you on the day.
Engagement and pre-wedding sessions can be included in the main wedding package or done as a seperate package.

  16. How much extra do you charge to travel outside the UK?

That will depend on the location and how much time we have until your wedding. If you book us well in advance, then we can get cheap airline tickets. Alternatively, we invite our clients to arrange the flight and accommodation if they prefer.

  17. Are you a member of any photographic organisations?

  18. Have you won any awards for your work?

I have won a few awards and rank amongst the Top Ten Wedding Photographers* on a competition site where the general public, and other photographers, vote on the best images. Awards are presented to the highest scoring images in each category on a daily, weekly and yearly basis. Click Here to view the awards I've won so far. I would love to win more awards from other organisations, but due to my commitment to producing the best work and providing exceptional customer service to all my couples, I always miss submission deadlines. Watch this space though, hopefully there will be a lot more awards in the near future. And it might even be one of your images that wins.. :-)

  19. Do you have any kind of professional insurance?

Yes I do. I am insured with both public liability and professional indemnity insurance which is valid worldwide.

  20. What if we don’t want loads of group photographs?

Then don't have them. We don't mind either way. Group shots take up a lot of time, and in most cases clients end up not selecting them for the album. In the time it takes to do group shots we are missing so many other special moments. Our advice to all our clients is to keep the group shots to a minimum by having shots of key family members only and maybe some close relatives and friends.
But it's entirely up to you how you want us to capture the day. We will always be on hand to help you plan the group shots so we can get through them efficiently.

  21. Someone else photographed our wedding, but I'm not happy with the results. Can you edit them for us?

Yes we can. But only if the photographer you hired has given you the right to edit the images. We will ask to see your wedding contract before we can proceed. We can only enhance an image if it is correctly exposed and has detail. Please bear in mind that no amount of editing can turn a bad photo into a good one. You can view samples of what we can do on the 'Retouching' section on our website.

  22. I want to get into Photography, Can you teach me the basics?

Yes I can. I get asked to help people all the time. And I'd love to teach others what I know.
Just get in touch and we'll discuss what you need to learn. I can then tailor a practical one-to-one course with your specific needs in mind. However, due to my commitments to current clients, I only do a very limited number of courses per year and only for those who are serious about photography, whether it's as a hobby or profession. Please don't call up and just ask how much the course costs or whether you can tag along to a shoot. If you are passionate about photography then the cost won't be a major factor to you as you're investing in knowledge you otherwise wouldn't have. And tagging along on a shoot that I've been hired for won't teach you much as I won't have time to explain things to you.
