About Me
It’s strange how I can talk about most things, but struggle when trying to talk about myself. Well, I suppose you came to this page to know more about me so here goes…
My name is Jay, I am a self-taught portrait & wedding photographer based in London.
I’ve had a passion for photography since the age of 17 after being dragged to a photo shoot by some friends. I realised that, rather than having my picture taken, I was more interested in what the photographer was doing and the type of equipment being used.
Since then I’ve continually been researching many aspects of photography, dabbled in it briefly with any type of camera I could get my hands on, and not to mention constantly asking professional photographers a million and one questions to the point where it may have seemed like I was stalking them!
Due to various career opportunities and business ventures over the years, I was unable to whole heartedly invest any time or money into photography as a profession.
All that changed in 2008 when I decided to buy my first DSLR Camera, and started to take photos as a hobby, snapping anything and everything. Having kept a keen interest and passion for photography over the years, I felt I had the need to take things to a professional level.
I now work as a full time portrait & wedding photographer. I’ve been lucky enough to have met my wife when I first started with photography as she’s a graphic designer with extensive knowledge of editing software. We now work in partnership where she uses her skills to do most of the post processing and assists me on shoots, leaving me to put 100% in capturing the perfect image and dealing with all other aspects of the business.
Our aim is to produce creative images and bring something different to the table. My wife and I put a lot of time and effort into our work and we try to make photo shoots fun and stress free. We don’t believe in making do with mediocre quality. If we can’t do it to a very high standard, we won’t do it at all. I hope this will all come across in our work.
Equipment I use
My photography equipment (so far) consists mainly of Nikon products. I am not a die-hard Nikon faithful; it’s just what was recommended to me by an experienced photographer. Below is a list of what I am currently using:
